◼️ Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu says the relationship between the United manager and the veteran striker has been affected.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not injured, but he would be sidelined by Manchester United coach José Mourinho, according to Adrian Mutu.
The veteran striker has been haunted by injuries this season, including a ruptured knee ligament that ended prematurely his 2016-17 campaign last November.
The former Swedish international, who will leave at the end of the season in the midst of links with LA Galaxy, made just seven appearances, mostly from the bench, before a relapse of his previous injury.
Ibrahimovic returned to training in February, but has not been submitted to United since then, and Mutu says it is due to a deteriorated relationship with Mourinho, rather than a lack of physical condition.
“Mourinho doesn’t care about the performance, only the result, I have information that Ibrahimovic is not injured, now he’s resenting Mourinho”, Chelsea’s former striker told Telekom Sport Romania.
Mutu himself had a cold relationship with Mourinho during their brief stint together at Chelsea in 2004. The former footballer faced the Portuguese due to his physical condition before a qualifying match for the 2006 World Cup between Romania and the Czech Republic.
Mutu’s career in Chelsea ended in October 2004 after he failed a drug test and, as a result, was released by the Premier League club.
