◼️ After being paired with the Blues in the quarterfinals, the Liverpool coach tried to reduce drama to the crossing with the leader of the English Premier League. “I don’t care”, he said.

Jurgen Klopp said he doesn’t mind having to face Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, but acknowledged that Liverpool is not the favorite of this round

The Reds will host the leaders of the Premier League on April 4 at Anfield before the second leg at Etihad Stadium six days later. The key is the most promising, especially since Liverpool was the only team in the English league that defeated City this season.

“I’ve said it before and it’s still the truth, it’s always common in a lottery that your neighbor touches you, more or less, but to be honest, I don’t really care, it’s exactly as it was before: we will take what we get; Now it’s Manchester City”, he told Liverpool’s official website.

“We’ve lost once and we’ve won once against them in the league, and I don’t think [in advance] that they think it’s the best crossroads Liverpool could have got, that’s a signal for us and how strong we can be.” he maintained.

“We are definitely not the favorites in this round, but in the quarterfinals there are not many favorites, maybe two of them, Bayern [Munich] and Barcelona, but thank God this is football and nothing is decided, but I’m anxious and we’ll give  it everything,” he added.

It could be said that City has some advantage to have the second leg at home, but Klopp, whose six wins against Pep Guardiola is a record higher than any other coach, denied that start playing at Anfield is negative for his team.

“In this case, it’s not very important, for us, it’s completely normal, we can get a result at home, but obviously it’s a difficult game, it’s good news for both teams”, he said.

“It’s as it should be in the quarterfinals, it was clear that we would face a strong team, now we have City, the good thing is that it’s the team we know best, it’s not very good for England because now only one team can go to the semifinals, but we will try everything”, he added.
