Official: Kyrie Irving Will Undergo A Minor Surgery, Out Indefinitely

◼️ The base of the Celtics will undergo a minimal intervention in the knee. The time that he will be out for this reason has not yet been estimated.

Kyrie Irving already has a solution for his left knee problem: surgery. The base of the Celtics, after receiving a second opinion from a doctor outside the franchise, has come to the conclusion that going through the operating room is the best.

Boston has announced the news in an official statement. The franchise highlights that it will be “a minimally invasive procedure to relieve the irritation” of the affected area. The official part emphasizes that, until the intervention occurs, you will not have an approximate fork of the time that will be recovering. For now it will cause low indefinitely.

Irving walked off injured for the last time at the Celtics-Pacers on March 11. Counting on that game, which couldn’t finish, the greens have achieved a negative balance of 2-3 without his presence.

It’s not the first time that Kyrie Irving has a problem with that particular knee. As Juanma Rubio picked up here, in the Finals 2015 his injury was already decisive for the Cavaliers to fall to the Warriors.

The Celtics don’t have Daniel Theis and Gordon Hayward, who won’t play in the remainder of the season, with Jaylen Brown, who is recovering from a concussion, or with Marcus Smart, who is waiting to decide whether to undergo surgery or not of the tendon of one of your fingers. It will be a mystery to know when Irving, perhaps the most important of all, is ready to return and under what conditions.

The Celtics are currently in a comfortable spot in the second position of the Eastern Conference with a 48-23 record, far from the first occupied by the Raptors and far from the third in which the Cavaliers currently sit.
