After a year of inactivity, the Filipino boxer Manny Paquiao will return to the rope to fight against the Argentine Lucas Matthysse on July 14.
The pampero boxer is the current welterweight champion for the World Boxing Association (WBA), and will put his title into play that night before the “devours Mexicans”.
The commitment was announced by ex-boxer and now promoter Óscar de la Hoya through his social networks: “Signed, sealed and delivered: proud to officially announce that world champion Lucas Matthysse will be able to win his title against Manny Pacquiao”.
Paquiao has a record of 59-7-2 (38 by KO), however, in his last fight he was defeated by the Australian Jeff Horn with a controversial decision by the judges.
In turn, the Argentine comes to the appointment with a record of 39-4 (36 per KO), having obtained the belt in his last fight beating by the chloroform way to the Thai Tewa Kiram.
