◼️ The world number 1 tennis player beat the young Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas
Rafael Nadal, number 1 in the world, won for the eleventh time the Barcelona Tournament on Sunday to beat the great surprise of the competition, the Greek 19-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas (63rd world), by 6-2 and 6-1 .
The Spaniard achieved the 55th clay court tournament of his career -the 77th counting all surfaces-, extending to 46 his current record of sets won consecutively.
Nadal, who won a week ago in Monte Carlo, is the favorite to win Roland Garros for the 11th time in a month (May 27-June 10). Before he will try to maintain his reign in the dust of brick in the Masters 1000 tournaments of Madrid and Rome.
Tsitsipas, in the first final of his career, did not find a way to hurt Nadal. His excellent tour in the Spanish city will help him to enter the Top-50, an unprecedented position for a Greek player.
Another piece tells of the great explosion of Tsitsipas, who on the way to the final beat the Austrian Dominic Thiem (7th world) and the Spaniard Pablo Carreño (11th): he is the youngest finalist in Barcelona since Nadal in 2005.
