◼️ The signing star of Barcelona in the winter market could add the Champions League to the League and Cup trophies that he already has with Liverpool.
There are 3,108 kilometers between Barcelona and Kiev, host city of the next Champions League Final, and from such distance Philippe Coutinho “will play” for Liverpool in the pursuit of Orejona against Real Madrid to presume conqueror of the Triplet this season.
Coutinho was the star signing of Barcelona in the past winter market from Liverpool in exchange for 120 million euros. He was champion in the La Liga and in the Copa del Rey, but on May 26 he could win his third title without even being in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.
The Brazilian played in the group round of the current Champions League with the Reds, with whom he scored five goals in the same number of games, but that forbade him to be in the round of 16 and Quarterfinals on the field with Lionel Messi to try avoid the debacle of Barça in Rome.
If Liverpool beats Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid – which is looking for the continental triple championship – the midfielder would add his third official trophy and would be the only player in the world to win the League, Cup and Champions League in 2018.
The last time someone managed the ‘Triplete’ was in 2015. Interestingly, that feat was achieved by several of Coutinho’s current teammates at Barcelona, since that year they were league monarchs, cupbearers and Europeans with elements such as Messi, Luis Suárez, Gerard Piqué and Andrés Iniesta, in addition to Neymar.
