◼️ After the star receiver didn’t show up in his training camps, Atlanta decided to negotiate the contract and increase his salary.
The Falcons put a stop to the drama with Julio Jones and satisfied (a little) their demands.
After his star receiver desisted from showing up at the start of the training camp, the Atlanta team had to react to prevent Julio from missing more time. The player wanted to review his contract before the start of practice, but the Falcons ruled that they would not do so until the end of the season.
But life goes around a lot and Jones knew perfectly how to get what he wanted.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the South NFC team agreed to talk about the agreement with the player at the end of the 2018 season, but the deal did not stop there. In order for the receiver to show up for his training camp, Atlanta put on the table about $ 2.5 million dollars that will be added to the $ 12.5 he will earn this year.
#Falcons WR Julio Jones was set to make $10.5M in 2018. After the recent adjustment, which came after lengthy negotiations, the team moved a few million dollars forward from a future year. Similar to what the #Seahawks did with Marshawn Lynch a few years back.
