Djokovic Premiered His Wimbledon Crown With Triumph In Toronto

◼️ The Serbian returned to the activity and beat Mirza Basic in the First Round of the Masters 1000 in Toronto.

Serbian Novak Djokovic, ninth favorite, started the tennis tournament at the ATP Masters 1000 in Toronto on Tuesday.

Djokovic, former world number one and current Wimbledon champion, beat Mirza Basic with partial 6-3, 7-6 (3) in one hour and 31 minutes.

The Serbian will face in the second round the Canadian Peter Polansky, who beat the Australian Matthew Ebden.

On the other hand, the Dutchman Robin Haase surprised the Japanese Kei Nishikori and in the next day the Argentine Juan Martin del Potro, the third seed, will be measured against him.

Haase, number 39 in the ATP ranking, defeated Nishikori with partial 7-5, 6-1.

The European will be measured on Wednesday to Del Potro, who is looking for the number 3 in the world in a duel with the German Alexander Zverev, defender of the title of the Masters 1000 of Canada.

Also, the Swiss Stan Wawrinka, who tries to return to the star planes after an absence due to injury, surprised the Australian Nick Kyrgios with markers of 1-6, 7-5, 7-5.
