James Harden reigned during the 2018-19 season in the NBA. The Houston Rockets guard finally collected his first individual trophy after remaining on the edge in previous editions, in the shadow of Stephen Curry (2015, 2016) or Russell Westbrook (2017). Harden returns to be one of the main candidates for the coming year, with renowned rivals such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant or Anthony Davis as the fiercest competition. And recently a bookmaker has determined the favorites to pick up Harden’s baton in the new season and wield the best player scepter in the regular season.
LeBron James appears as favorite in the aforementioned bet estimate (10/3), with Anthony Davis (4/1), Giannis Antetokounmpo (9/2), Harden himself (11/2), Kevin Durant (9/1) , Kawhi Leonard (11/1) and Russell Westbrook (14/1) as more potential alternatives to be crowned with the 2018-2019 MVP.
The English betting format, by which this equation has been established for the MVP, works in such a way that the amount of profit is deducted from the bet amount multiplied in turn by the fractioned amount. For example, if you bet five dollars that LeBron will be MVP if you finish the ’23’ as an award winner would multiply those five dollars by 10 and divide for 3. In total, a benefit of just over 16 dollars (with the amount wagered reimbursed). The more likely, the less benefit, of course.
In short, the best players considered in the table, as recorded by the journalist Mark Medina, keep the distribution that is shown in the following image:
