The voices calling for the return of the NBA to Seattle continue to accumulate. Dwyane Wade, Steve Kerr, and now Kevin Durant, have highlighted in recent months how important the return of the Sonics would be. The Golden State forward, who was chosen by Seattle in the 2007 draft, knows perfectly the basketball environment that is breathed in the city of Washington State. With that in mind, and just before playing a preseason game with the Warriors at KeyArena, KD shows his support because the return of basketball to Seattle might be around the corner.
It’s not an impossible dream. A year ago, exactly in July of 2017, Adam Silver pointed out that he saw expansion as inevitable. Months later we knew that Seattle approved the remodeling of KeyArena to adapt it to the NBA. And now in that mythical court, KD is going to play a preseason game. We don’t know how many years the expansion will take, but surely Seattle is at the top of the waiting list.
