Red Sox Win The First Game Of The ALDS Against Yankees 5-4

◼️ J.D. Martinez’s 3-run HR spurred the Red Sox to their 5th straight postseason victory over the Yankees.

The Red Sox, after a campaign in which they established a record of the franchise with 108 victories, took advantage of 5-0 in the third. But then they had to suffer from their relievers when New York began to make plays once Sale came out with two in circulation and one out in the sixth.

The second game is Saturday night, with Boston sending another pitcher trying to overcome a history of postseason problems: left-hander David Price is 0-8 in his career as a playoff starter. He will face the Yankees favorite, Masahiro Tanaka.
