A new type of corona has been identified in South Africa. This new type is capable of repeatedly changing genetic makeup. Due to the type, it is feared that the new corona infection may spread in the world. Concerns have spread in different countries of the world. Restrictions and travel bans are being issued.

Why being called risky
Initially, the scientific name of this new type of corona is B.1.1.529. However, it was named ‘Omicron’ on Friday. With this name, the World Health Organization (WHO) has described the type as ‘worrying’. The company cited repeated genetic mutations as a cause for concern and the risk of re-infection in people previously identified as having coronary heart disease.

The species was first identified in South Africa last Tuesday. In the past two weeks, there has been an outbreak of coronavirus infection in the country’s Gauteng province due to the type. The urban area consists of Pretoria and Johannesburg in South Africa. Scientists fear that this type of genetic mutation is more likely to be able to evade the human immune system. It is for these two reasons that the new genre has caused a great deal of controversy among international observers. The chief medical consultant for the UK’s Department of Health and Safety described the new strain as “terrible” and “the worst strain ever found”.

The origin of the species is not known, as it was first identified in Gauteng province in South Africa.
