Andres Iniesta Says Goodbye To The Spanish National Team

Andrés Iniesta has published a letter on his social networks on Tuesday to bid farewell to the Spanish national team after announcing that he left the team after elimination at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The player explains that he did not want to continue but after months of thinking he believes that “it is time to step aside”. In addition, he admits having had the good fortune of living “one of the best stages of Spanish football”, that he has lived a dream and that he tried to “give the maximum so that you feel proud”.

Also, the former Barcelona player was grateful to the national team, his teammates, the Federation and all the coaches he has had in ‘La Roja’ during the 19 years he has lived between the lower and absolute categories, where he has been a key man in the achievements of the 2008 and 2012 Euro Cups and the 2010 South Africa World Cup.
