Ice Cube, singer, producer and creator of the basketball competition Big3, has acknowledged that he would like Kobe Bryant to play for them; however, the former star of the Los Angeles Lakers for 20 campaigns has always rejected his proposal.
“Yes, I have always asked him, but he has always rejected me. But I don’t care. The next time I see Kobe I’ll ask again,” Cube admitted to journalist Ryan Ward.
“Right now he has a lot of things on his hands … It may take a year or a year and a half. But when he gets the itch, we’ll be here to try to convince him,” he added.
The Big3 is a summer competition of 3×3 created in the year 2017 with a total of 8 teams. In their squads, they’ve had NBA ex-players of the stature of Stephen Jackson, Allen Iverson, Baron Davis, Rashard Lewis, Mike Bibby, Chauncey Billups and Amar’e Stoudemire among many others.
