Ryder Cup │ Europe Takes The Lead 5-3 After Sweeping The Foursomes

◼️ The American team squandered a 3-1 advantage in the morning in the Ryder Cup by losing in all foursomes against the Europeans.

The European Team had an incredible afternoon at the Le Golf National de Paris field to sweep the four foursome matches and thus leave the first day of the 2018 Ryder Cup series with a 5-3 advantage over the United States.

The U.S. team started off strong at the Ryder Cup against Europe with a 3-1 lead with the Tony Finau-Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson-Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas-Jordan Spieth pairings all winning their matches. The European team came storming back in the second set of matches with the parings of Henrick Stenson-Justin Rose, Ian Poulter-Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia-Alex Noren and Francesco Molinari-Tommy Fleetwood dominating to make the final score after day one 5-3 in favor of Europe.
