◼️ Novak occupies the third position of the ATP behind Nadal and Federer, his historical rivals.

Novak Djokovic, back to the highest level after winning Wimbledon and the US Open, aims to regain the throne of world tennis, which currently occupies Rafael Nadal, said Monday at a press conference in Belgrade.

Djokovic had an elbow surgery in February and recovered his best Wimbledon version, putting an end to almost two years, performing below his usual level. Now occupies the third spot of the ATP behind Nadal and Federer, his historical rivals.

After Shanghai, he could try to win points in tournaments like those in Basel or Vienna, where he normally doesn’t compete: “We left that possibility open, but before that, I need to play well in Shanghai.”

In the ATP list published this Monday Djokovic is more than 2,300 points away from Nadal, which will not compete at least until November due to problems in one knee.
